Home Run USC

I am loving the home run selection on USC. They have some great baseball tops which would be really easy to through over some jeans or leggings or even with a pleated skirt tucked in or belted. You could wear them with feminine sandals to have some contrast or complete the theme with bright or patterned trainers or some classic converse. They are something a bit different and definitely something you don't see on girls too often but they look great for summer as they are loose fitting a lightweight and sporty. My favourites below.

What I Wore … 4th April 2014

I wore my COS navy Fishermans jumper. My COS grey t-shirt underneath. My basic blue H&M tube skirt. Tights from M&S. My New Look brown suede boots. My old urban outfitters necklace that I got really cheap in the sale.

For hair and makeup I did a thin line of gel eyeliner and back combed the back part of the crown of my head. I have learnt that if you brush your hair first then use batiste dry shampoo and massage it in you keep a lot more of the volume and I did that in the morning not the night before.

Sunday Weights

I am really getting into weights, I feel like I put more effort in every session and when I do it right it is an all body workout i.e. I need to tense my core when I do different moves.

This Sunday I added in a new move I found on pinterest, it was ideas for what to do with a kettle bell but I successfully managed to adapt it (another great thing about weights). You had to start standing with your weight held out 90 degrees to the floor with a straight arm then go to a lunge and pass the weight under your leg to the opposite arm and finish as you started but on the opposite side. I found it easiest to keep to the same leg lunging as I have very bad balance so I did 10 one side and 10 the other and then after a little break did another set.

I thought it was great as it worked your legs, bum, arms and core. It made you hold the lunge and get into a good position as you had to pass the weight under your leg. It definitely got me warmed up and I might up it to 12 reps each leg next time as I think I can push it a bit more!

What I Wore… 7th April 2014

My peach COS jumper. My blue striped basic Zara top. My Asos high waisted black jeans. My Topshop black boots.

For hair and makeup I sectioned off the front parts of my hair at the top of my parting and collected som more from just behind but lower down so the hair would reach to the back of my head and pinned. I put on some gel eyeliner and mascara.

Saturday's Blueberry Muffins

I felt like getting a little fruit in my dessert this weekend and immediately thought of blueberry muffins! I used this Paul Hollywood recipe from bbc good food. I also added some lemon zest and some dedicated coconut and it was all very tasty... except for the blueberries!

They just didn't really taste of anything. I've recently got into dried fruit, I love dried cranberries and also noticed that they do dried blueberries and the cranberries are always really flavourful so maybe it's the same for the blueberries? They do recommend using them in baking and anything would be better than the actual blueberries, are they out of season at the moment?

I didn't put my batter in the fridge I also just mixed everything into the batter instead of studding on top. I put my fan oven on 160 and they took 15 minutes. I also divided them up into 12 cases so they were a little smaller but made me feel better about myself when I had two in a row because they're only little!

I loved the lemon zest addition but I can't get enough of lemon in general and the desiccated coconut added a lovely bit of texture.

I don't think I would use this recipe again, the first Paul Hollywood recipe to fail me! But I do want to try this hairy bikers one

New Jeffrey Campbell at Nasty Gal

I got an email from Nasty Gal today with their lasted additions to their Jeffery Campbell collection and they are, as always, incredible! I love how they are aimed for the soon to come spring/summer and their neutral and floral colour schemes. I love the design of the boots especially, I think they are very cool and would help dress up or down and outfit and help edge up a no effect outfit like jeans and a top or a simple dress. Anyway! Here are my favourites.
